February 2018 – Foraging Friday has been a huge success! the children have loved being outside being creative, completing tasks from measuring dragon footprints to making camouflage masks.
December 2017 -Today we had the Food Standards Agency in to school to tell us about the importance of washing our hands and cross contamination. The children thoroughly enjoyed the enchanting story and the vibrant music!
October 2017 – We read the story ‘Pumpkin soup’ from the story the children had the idea of carving pumpkins and using them to make some soup of their own. We used the Pumpkins and our outside classroom to create some delicious soup that the children loved!
October 2017 – Today class One went exploring the traditional farm of Acton Scott. We had great fun looking at how farming was done in the past. We planted wheat, we completed the harvest and stopped in at the farriers on the way home. The children had a fantastic time!
September 2017 – More visits from our barnyard friends. Today we had two little piglets in school. We were able to learn about the different breeds of pigs farmers keep and the different ways we eat them.
September 2017 – Class One have had a goat to visit today! The children had a lovely time learning all about goats, including trying goats milk, goats cheese and enjoying a day in the outdoors with our very own fire pit, just perfect for toasting marshmallows!
